We finally decided to do it and start a family blog, so welcome to our little world.
We recently grew from CALA to CALAE with the addition of Esterlyn Kate Marusik into the world. She was born on August 31, 2008 at 7:10am weighing in at 7lb 10oz and measuring 21 inches in length. More to come on the birth later (it was an amazing experience and I would like Amy to blog on her experience and I will blog on mine), but we wanted to introduce you to our new blog and our new daughter... the E in CALAE.

Congratulations, Curt and Amy! What a beautiful new daughter you have. I love her name - tell us how you chose it! It is so pretty and so unique. Who is the professional photographer in your life? :)

My sister in law is the photographer, and I must say, she is great at what she does. She was able to be here for the birth and photograph the whole experience (we actually had her at a birthing center and used a midwife and was definitely the best birthing experience I believe we had had to date (Amy would agree).
We actually saw her name a few months ago and just fell in love with it. It was unique and as soon as I heard it, there was no doubt in my mond that that would be her name.
